Portugal’s Santiago Lopes will have his case reviewed by an Independent Foul Play Review Committee (FPRC) having been issued with a red card (upgraded from yellow card on review) for an act of foul play contrary to Law 9.13 (dangerous tackling) during the November Internationals match between Portugal and Uruguay on Saturday, 8 November 2025.

In line with World Rugby’s expedited off-field sanction process, Lopes’ case will be considered by the on-duty Independent Foul Play Review Committee (FPRC) comprising Nigel Hampton KC (chair), John Langford and Leon Lloyd on Sunday, 9 November 2025.
