The session will set out the findings of World Rugby’s latest examination of academic research on knee injuries in rugby and sport more widely. It will also use the latest research to suggest how coaches, medics and players can use strength training to minimise their risk across the season.
Attendees will hear from:
- Dr Lindsay Starling - Science and Medical Manager, World Rugby
- Petra Druskovic - Activate Sub-Regional Coordinator
- Dr Debbie Palmer - Senior lecturer in sports injury epidemiology, University of Edinburgh and Co-Director for the Edinburgh-Bath UK Collaborating Centre on Injury and Illness Prevention in Sport (UKCCIIS), IOC Research Centre of Excellence.

The women’s health series started last year ahead of the record-breaking Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025 which took place in England and saw the home nation’s Red Roses crowned world champions.
Both 2025 webinars and the 2026 sessions are available to watch for free, anytime on the world rugby website.
The latest webinar is accompanied by a new World Rugby summary of the latest findings on knee injuries in the sport which has been published by World Rugby and is available for anyone who needs it.
There is one further Women’s Health webinar in the series, scheduled for later this year.
