World Rugby can confirm the following disciplinary decisions as a result of red cards from the Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup and the WXV Global Series.

  • Brittany Kassil (Canada) has been suspended for three matches, reduced to two on successful completion of the Coaching Intervention
  • Isoa Nasilasila (Fiji) has been suspended for one match following a full disciplinary hearing.

Brittany Kassil (Canada)

Brittany Kassil accepted foul play had occurred and that the red card was warranted. In determining the sanction, the FPRC found the player had attempted to tackle in an upright position resulting in a head-to-head collision with the Scotland player. This warranted the mandatory mid-range sanction for head contact of six matches with full mitigation reducing the sanction to three matches.

The player has accepted the sanction and is therefore suspended for the following matches:

  • 19 September, 2026 - WXV Global Series - England v Canada
  • 26 September, 2026 - WXV Global Series - France v Canada
  • 16 October, 2026 - WXV Global Series - Canada v England*

* The player may become available to play in this match subject to successful completion of the Coaching Intervention Programme.

Isoa Nasilasila (Fiji)

In respect of the red card issued to Isoa Nasilasila, the FPRC originally proposed a mid-range sanction of six matches reduced with full mitigation to three matches. The proposed sanction was not accepted and the matter was referred to a Disciplinary Committee for a full hearing, which took place on Wednesday, 16 September. The committee was chaired by Wang Shao-Ing (Singapore), joined by former referees Donal Courtney (Ireland) and Juan Pablo Spirandelli (Argentina).

Having considered all available evidence and the player’s submissions, the committee decided that the incident warranted a low-end entry point of two matches and that the player was entitled to full 50 per cent mitigation resulting in a final sanction of one match.

Nasilasila will miss Fiji's Asahi Super Dry Pacific Nations Cup 2026 match against Japan on 19 September.
