We are committed to strengthening the long-term resilience of rugby while maximising the positive impact of our activities and reducing their environmental footprint.

As an international federation, we work alongside more than 135 member unions and six regional associations to advance sustainable practices across the global rugby ecosystem. Through practical tools, education programmes, guidance and shared frameworks, we support our stakeholders in embedding sustainability into their own organisations, events and decision-making processes.

We also recognise the unique platform provided by our major tournaments. Rugby World Cups and other flagship events have the power to deliver lasting benefits for host nations and communities by creating opportunities for participation, inclusion, economic development and social impact. At the same time, we strive to minimise environmental impacts, promote responsible resource use and integrate sustainability considerations into every stage of event planning and delivery.
